Message from Vice Commodore
The Season has started especially well with lots of people sailing and very successful powerboating and sailing courses. Following on from the success of the Topper Open last month, we are hosting a Laser Open on Sunday June 16th.
I would encourage you to come down to support the event and the competitors, especially those from Hill Head. To help make the event a success we still need volunteers to support the organising team. We are looking for Shore Support, greeters, a Beach Master, registration Officer and Tally Station . I will be ringing round asking for support but you can also fill in a duty in Dutyman or give me a call. We are also looking for a cruiser to act as a Committee Boat.
Many thanks in advance.
Richard Whiteley Vice Commodore 07767 647792
EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS
Can all members please ensure that the Emergency Contact Details provided to the club are up to date. Whilst we hope we never have to use them, it is important that we have up to date information in case we have an incident.
Please check by accessing the Members Portal here: www.hillheadsc.org.uk/profile. This is also where you can ensure that your contact details are visible to other Club Members (select 'Members' from the drop down list as highlighted in the image). This is really useful if you are trying to organise Duty Swaps for example.
Safety Boat Start Times
We are aware there has been some confusion regards arrival times for Safety Boat volunteer duties for club racing. The general guidance is to arrive around 1 hour before the start of the race. The automated reminder from DutyMan should reflect this but if in doubt, please check the Race Start time either in this Weekly Update or in the Sailing Calendar (on the website or in your printed calendar). There are still hard copies of the Calendar available at the club if you haven't picked one up yet.
Unidentified Dinghy (Still!)
Do you recognise this Dinghy. It is on spit side and sat in the 'Cat Area'. There are no Hill Head stickers - only a Leamington Sticker. If you own this boat - or know who does - please let the Dinghy Park Manager know (Sue Vines).
Lost a Coat?
Do you recognise these coats found at the Sailing Club? They are in Lost Property waiting to be reunited with their owners!
Breaking News - Purple flag recovered!
During Laser Squad last weekend, our new buoy with a purple flag SUNK - thought lost forever! We're pleased to report that the intrepid 'buoy rescue team' waded; kayaked & swam to bring him home. We await his next adventures!
