Introduction
We are proud of the fact that Hill Head is a self-sustaining club which is run by the members for the benefit of its members. We do not employ any paid members of staff. We find that members volunteer duties have a significant positive impact on how our members integrate with our club. During your duties you have a great opportunity to meet other members, make new friends and socially integrate in ways which you typically might find difficult when new to such an environment.
What does volunteering to help run the club mean?
Members are expected to participate in volunteering in some way. Typically, we like to allow you to choose what you want to be involved with. There are several key areas where the club requires volunteers:
- Running our sailing activities
- The Club Bar
- The Galley
- Maintenance
Most of our volunteer duties run on an online system which allows you to choose what you want to do, click here to access the members’ portal. Sometimes there will be a requirement to train volunteers to do something they have not considered.
Training will always be given so that you understand what you need to do.
How do I get involved?
The main duty planning takes place at the start of the season, but if you are keen then please contact either the Sailing Commodore or the Allocations Team allocationteam@hillheadsc.org.uk and we shall assist you.
It really is a case of what you put in, you will almost certainly get out!
