Enhancing your skills
We care about the continued development of our sailors, which means that we also run a number of intermediate sessions for different user groups through out the year. These are specifically designed to help with your confidence, skill building and most importantly, it gets you on the water with other members and we typically find this can be the make or break to your success to regular sailing.
Class Squads – Throughout the year we typically offer 4 to 6 squad sessions between March and October. These are led by coaches dedicated to each squad and have a strong background in that class. The classes we run squads for are:
Alongside this we offer an Adult Squad and a Women on Water Squad for different types of boat aimed at those looking to gain confidence after their RYA Level 1/2 course.
Novice Races – Over the course of the year we typically offer 12 races over 6 days when we put on another safety boat with a qualified coach to help novice racers around the race course.
For all our Squads & Novice races the coach will lead a brief before you go on the water and also a debrief, to give you the opportunity to ask questions and receive further support. Our aim is to give you consistency and progression over these sessions so please do join in.
We host a Squad Sign-up event, typically mid to late March time, where you can sign up and also speak to the coaches. But we always welcome new members to join, throughout the year so long as we have spaces. For 2022 this will be on the 10th March.
